SVENSKA KRAFTNÄT Svenska Kraftnät is a state utility which was established on 1 January 1992. The company administers and runs the national electrical grid which in total consists of approximately 15,000 kilometres of 200 kV and 400 kV lines plus installations, interconnectors to neighbouring countries, and IT systems. Svenska Kraftnät has around 270 employees, the majority of whom work at our head office in Sundbyberg. We also have offices at Sundsvall, Sollefteå and Halmstad, as well as a training centre for linesmen on civil duty at Åsbro. Svenska Kraftnät provides employment for hundreds more people via contract work on the operation and maintenance of the grid all across the country. INSTALLATION AT SVENSKA KRAFTNÄT In the initial pilot from 2005, it was shown that GoalArt's algorithm correctly analyses the large Swedish blackout from September 23, 2003, and indentifies the two independet root causes within the first minute of the incident. A GoalArt system has been monitoring the Swedish power grid since january 2009. This system is currently being upgraded, so it can be operated together with the new SCADA and EMS system at SvK.
